The Popcorn machine is proud to announce its second outing. Enter the musical universe of Rafael Murillo, a young artist also hailing from Paris. Raised in a musician’s household, Rafael Murillo developed his signature sound along the years – a generous, imaged and lyrical kind of techno. Rafael gets his stories to unfold into intricate adventures within every single one of his productions. There, every snare has its own place, each conga its own importance.
‘Akriliska’, the head title here, best reflects these tendencies in sound, where shakers and hand drums swirl around a mysterious lulling melody. Boris Brejcha wakes up the Black Swan that lies in Akriliska. Head honcho of German label Harthouse, Boris is faithful to his high quality standards and delivers a subtle remix.
Following a recent release on Off Records, Mr. Rhauder, who signs the second remix for this release, is offering a serious Techno version of ‘Audiolyse’. Finally, ‘Araignee’ is a fairy tale in which rattles turn into layers here and percussions there. Rafael tops it all up with his sensual voice and spontaneously creates a true musical treat.
